Caps / bodyprotectors
Een cap of helm beschermt het hoofd. Belangrijk is de driepuntssluiting en dat het hoofddeksel voldoet aan de Europese EN1384 norm. De cap moet goed aansluiten en niet te los op het hoofd zitten. Er zijn tegenwoordig allerlei lichtgewicht modellen te koop die ook nog eens voorzien zijn van ventilatie.
Een bodyprotector is een veiligheidsvest dat eruit ziet als een strakke bodywarmer. Het beschermt je ruggengraat, ribben en alle onderliggende organen bij een val. Men kan zich voorstellen dat een val van een paard tegen een voorwerp aan (bijvoorbeeld een hindernis of een bakwand) ernstig letsel kan veroorzaken.
Je kan een bodyprotector over je kleding, of onder je kleding dragen. Onder de kleding is geeft de beste bescherming en draagcomfort
